Weekly Release Roundup!
Hello fellow geeks! Welcome to your weekly article on all Blu-Ray/4K Ultra HD/Digital film and television releases. While I won’t be noting everything released for a particular week, I’ll be highlighting some of the more notable ones. I’ll also include a brief description of the film, the main actors/actresses and director, whether or not I’ve seen it, and a Rotten Tomatoes/MetaCritic score for those who like that kind of thing. Starring: Teresa Palmer, Maria Bello
What It’s About: A horrifying apparition terrorizes a girl with mental issues, her brother, and her mother. However, it only appears when the lights go out.

What It’s About: Vee (Roberts) and Ian (Franco) are drawn into a popular on-line truth or dare game where with each round the rewards go up but so does the intensity.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople
Director: Taika Waititi
Starring: Sam Neill, Julian Dennison
What It’s About: Ricky is a juvenile delinquent. Abandoned by his mother, Ricky is taken by child services to live at a remote farm with cantankerous hunter Hec. When Hec’s wife dies and Ricky fakes his own death, Hec travels into the wilderness to find Ricky. There the two form a mutual bond over loss.

Captain Fantastic
Director: Matt Ross
Starring: Viggo Mortensen, Frank Langella, Kathryn Hahn
What It’s About: Ben Cash has raised his six children off the grid with his wife Leslie for years. There the children learn survivalist skills as well as a font of knowledge from various texts. However, when Ben discovers his wife has committed suicide, he’s forced to return to civilization and confront his past.

Mr. Church
Director: Bruce Beresford
Starring: Eddie Murphy, Britt Robertson
What It’s About: Marie Brooks is dying of cancer with six months to live. One day she wakes up to find Mr. Church in her small apartment. An ex-lover hired Mr. Church to take care of Marie. Six years later, Marie is still alive and Mr. Church has become a fixture in the home. However, when Marie finally passes things between Mr. Church and Marie’s daughter Charlotte become complicated.
