Websites We Like: ‘Hyperbole & A Half’
I don’t read many blogs. It’s nothing personal, but time is limited and there’s only so much internet I can look at. On an unrelated note, I love you very much for visiting my tiny little corner of the web. Out of the blogs I do consistently make the time for, one of the absolute bests is Allie’s ‘Hyperbole & A Half’. Allie is a consistently entertaining, slightly detached young adult who waxes lyrical about social situations, the struggles of being independent and re-visitations of her childhood. Her simple drawings make her ramblings even greater for their sketchy quality. You may have seen this one, recently recreated over and over again as a meme…
At this time Allie is working on a book, which she was commissioned to do based on the success of her blog, and the output has been slow. Nonetheless, I wish to acknowledge Allie’s contribution to the world of education: no student who has been shown the ‘Alot’ has made that mistake since. Epicsome.
My personal favourites, however, are when she deconstructs various social situations, such as how to deal with close-talkers.
