Weekly Release Roundup!
Hello fellow geeks! Welcome to your weekly article on all Blu-Ray/4K Ultra HD/Digital film and television releases. While I won’t be noting everything released for a particular week, I’ll be highlighting some of the more notable ones. I’ll also include a brief description of the film, the main actors/actresses and director, whether or not I’ve seen it, and a Rotten Tomatoes/MetaCritic score for those who like that kind of thing. Sausage Party
Director: Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan
Starring: Seth Rogen, Kristin Wiig
What It’s About: In a grocery store various foods including protagonist Frank (Rogen) dream of being chosen and taken by humans to Paradise. When Frank discovers the horrible truth he must convince his friends of their reality.

Bubba Ho-Tep

Starring: Bruce Campbell, Ossie Davis
What It’s About: The real Elvis Presley (Campbell), having faked his own death years ago, lives quietly at a retirement home in East Texas. His only friend is Jack (Davis) who is actually John F. Kennedy who survived the assassination attempt, was dyed black, and then abandoned at the nursing home by Lyndon Johnson. Together the two fight an ancient mummy who is terrorizing the retirement home.

Taxi Driver (40th Anniversary Edition)
Director: Martin Scorsese
Starring: Robert De Niro, Jodie Foster, Cybill Shepherd
What It’s About: Disillusioned Vietnam War vet and taxi driver Travis Bickle (De Niro) cruises the streets of New York City. Along the way he tries to woo Cybill Shepherd, save a teenage prostitute (Foster) and possibly assassinate a politician.

Indignation

Starring: Logan Lerman, Sarah Gadon
What It’s About: Set against the backdrop of the Korean War, Jewish working class student Marcus (Lerman) attends college and meets the wealthy and elegant Olivia (Gadon). While at school Marcus also confronts the dean regarding the role of religion in academic life
