E3 is back, and with is a slew of new games for console generations old and new. As we have in the past, we’ll be rounding up the trailers and info we can find each day and posting them for your edification. This is a big year folks, the first e3 since the 8th Gen consoles dropped and so we’re getting a lot of footage from next-gen only titles. Where available I’ll include info like release windows or dates and which platforms the game will be for. Games are presented in no specific order.

Halo 2 Anniversary and Master Chief Collection

The first is a graphical overhaul of the classic Halo game, while the second provides four Halo games, the ones centred around Spartan 117 in a single package that appears at first glance to be set in some overworld wraparound story featuring the protagonist of Halo 5.

That guy in the trailer is on the cover for the upcoming title, so perhaps that’s how they’ll link them in but no word on whether the games will be the anniversary editions or the classic ones without much remastering.

Available on: Xbox One Exclusive.

Rise of the Tomb Raider

The sequel to the recent reboot of the series.

Available on: This aired during the Microsoft presser, so we can only confirm Xbox One right now, but I doubt this would be platform exclusive given sales of the previous game on PS3, PS4 and PC. I’d say it will be next-gen only though like most of the upcoming titles. 2015

Rainbow Six: Seige

Rainbow Six is back from the dead! Who saw that coming?

Available on: unclear. Likely next-gen exclusive. 2015

Assassin’s Creed: Unity

AC during the French Revolution. Probably with less singing than Les Miserables. Probably. Either way, this trailer and  co-op vid look stunning.

Available on: PS4, Xbox One and PC. November 2014.

The Division

That was super grim, and I’m really digging it. This cinematic trailer really captures the spirit of a bleak, post-pandemic New York City.

Here’s some gameplay.

Available on: PS4, Xbox One and PC. 2015.

Far Cry 4

Set in the Himalayas, this looks pretty fun. Two player Far Cry co-op. Count me in.

Available on: PS4, Xbox One and PC

Mirror’s Edge 2

I really liked the first game, some combat mechanics aside. This should look great. I’d like some more gameplay soon.

Available on: unclear. Likely next-gen exclusive.

Inside

From the creators of Limbo, this upcoming title follows another little boy protagonist, this time in a dystopian nightmare of a future. It’s grim, bleak and atmospheric. I dig it.

Available on: Xbox One debut, other platforms later. 2015.

Crackdown

Looks hella fun. No gameplay though.

Available on: Xbox One Exclusive

Star Wars: Battlefront

Upcoming Star Was release from the makers of Battlefield. In game engine footage looks good.

Available on: unclear. Likely next gen exclusive.

Mass Effect 4 (tentative title)

The next Mass Effect game will be next generation exclusive and pretty. Hopefully with the “power of next generation consoles” means there’s more to do on all those planets we can explore.

Available on: PS4 and Xbox One

Dragon Age Inquisition

This next gen only Dragon Age title is going to be great.

Available on: PS4, Xbox One and PC

Scalebound

Colour coded dragons in an, I am assuming here, multi-player enabled frenzy of dragon-buddy fun? Nice.

Available on. Xbox One Exclusive

The Sims 4

Another Sims game, this time with ridiculous levels of control in the character and building creation areas.

Available on: PC exclusive. September 2014.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

I’m gonna admit now that I haven’t been interested in COD games since Modern Warfare. Black Ops did nothing for me. I preferred the games back when they were set in WW2. This though. This piques my interest.

Available on: I dunno? It’s a COD game so… everything? November 2014

Sunset Overdrive

Um. I have no words. Okay I have one word. YEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS

Available on: Xbox One Exclusive. I think. If it is it looks like I’m buying a new console because that hit all my buttons.

Evolve

We’ve seen a bit of this already, but the new E3 trailer shows off THE KRAKEN, the newest monster. Now before this I had been under the impression that there was one monster and that player always played it but from this new info I guess there’s a few options, which is great. That first guy, who we saw in previous trailers was named Goliath, for anybody interested.

Available on: Xbox One exclusive. Guess I’m buying that new console after all.

Homefront: The Revolution

Homefront was not, by any stretch, a well received game. It sold poorly, had gameplay and AI issues. That said, I really enjoyed the concept and I’m glad it’s getting a sequel because the sequel it’s getting looks pretty great. If nothing else, finaly it’s a game series where the enemies aren’t from Insert Generic Islamic Nation Here™

North Korea yo. It’s the enemy of the future!

Available on: PS4, Xbox One and PC

The Order 1886

The alternate Victorian Era game looks stunning.

Available on: PS4 Exclusive

Killzone Shadow Fall: Intercept

Not my cup of tea, but this co-operative only DLC for KZSF is coming soon.

Available on: PS4 Exclusive

Destiny

Sony opened the Playstation conference with this new Destiny trailer and then the collective audience of nerds across the planet creamed themselves. Looks badass. Very Bungie. Not only is PS4 getting exclusive Destiny content, but there’s going to be an exclusive Destiny bundle with a white PS4. Nice.

Available on: Xbox One, PS4

Entwine

This is a new one. Indie game. Novel controls. Very pretty.

Available on: PS4 Exclusive. Now.

Little Big Planet 3

Yes! A new adventure for Sackboy, now with friends! The gameplay on the new characters looks fun. Added depth to levels. Looks super fun.

Available on: PS4 Exclusive. November 2014.

Bloodborne

A brand new IP from Dark Souls director Hidetaka Miyazaki. Creepy. Gothic. Not sure if this is “Project Beast” or if that was something different. Either way, looks good. Can confirm, this is Project Beast.

Available on: PS4 Exclusive

Dead Island 2

Looks amusing. No gameplay, just a fun trailer. Given how the trailer for the first game was basically nothing like the game… we’ll see.

Available on: PS4 and Xbox One

Battlefield: Hardline

Battle organised crime in the city. Yes.

Available on: PS4 (also perhaps others)

Magicka 2

That was a weird-ass trailer.  Looks fun though.

Available on: PS4 (also perhaps others)

Grim Fandango: Remastered

No Trailer Available

The classic, wonderful adventure title is returning in HD exclusive to PS4 and PSVita.

Let It Die

From the crazed mind of Suda51, Let It Die is a game I can tell you nothing about but which looks crazy good.

Available on: PS4 (and perhaps others)

ABZÛ

From the creators of Journey. So pretty.

Available on: PS4 (and perhaps others)

No Man’s Sky

This game looks freaking insane. A boundless, procedurally generated universe where each player begins on their own unique planet, with no two planets the same, the freedom to explore anywhere, discover new things, new species, new places, new civilisations. Oh, and it’s being made entirely by four people. Madness.

I’ve been hankering for this for a while, and was happy to learn it’s not only coming to PS4, but that it’ll be a Playstation timed exclusive.

Available on: PS4, Xbox One (maybe?) and PC

Broforce, Not A Hero, Hotline Miami 2, The Talos Principle

Indie titles brought to PS4 by Devolver Digital.

Available on: PS4

Powers, Ratchet And Clank: Remastered and Ratchet and Clank The Movie

No Trailer Available

Announced at the same time as the film and the upcoming Powers series was that a remastered version of the original Ratchet and Clank, with new content, is coming in early 2015. They also stated that the Powers series will be free to view for PS+ subscribers.

Available on: PS4 Exclusive

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

The next in the MGS franchise. Certainly looks nice. I wonder if it’ll be more than 20 minutes long. EDIT: Trailer replaced with a working link. Sorry bout that folks.

Available on: PS4 and Xbox One

Mortal Kombat X

Such graphics. Many death. Wow. So fatality. You know what you’re getting with an MK game. Looks nice though.

Available on: PS4, Xbox One, (possibly last gen consoles too)

Batman: Arkham Knight

Gameplay footage shows a nice mix of Batmobile and on-foot gameplay. Love the updated look for Scarecrow at the end of the trailer too. Of course the game comes with Playstation exclusive content.

Available on: PS4, Xbox One and PC. 2015.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Nathan Drake returns for more action, adventure, improbable plot developments and quips galore.

Available on: PS4 exclusive. 2015.

Phew. What a big day. That’s all for now. I’m sure there’ll be more tomorrow so come back then for another dose of E3 action.
