Batman #11
By: Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo
Publisher: DC Comics
Estimated Price: $3.99
What’s it about: The conclusion to “The Court of Owls” and “The Fall of the House of Wayne.” This month has been way too long waiting for Snyder’s newest Batman issue after the bomb he laid on us in the previous issue. SPOILER His long thought forgotten by canon brother is a member of the Court of Owls.
Before Watchmen Minutemen #2 (of 6)
By: Darwyn Cooke
Publisher: DC Comics
Estimated Price: $3.99
What’s it about: Already getting into the second issues of the Before Watchmen series, and Cooke’s is easily the best of the bunch. It is full of pulpy glory that it should plus a healthy sense of deconstruction. Some of the title still haven’t seen daylight yet, but so far this one is the best.
Punk Rock Jesus #1 (of 6)
By: Sean Murphy
Publisher: DC Comics
Estimated Price: $2.99
What’s it about: Believers beware! You are probably going to be offended, but the premise is so out there and crazy that I need to recommend it. The comic is about J2, a reality show about a clone of Jesus Christ in a futuristic U.S.A. The American Idol style competition is to find his new mother.
The Crow #1
By: John Shirley, Kevin Colden, and Ashley Wood

What’s it about: You read right, a brand new Crow book. This time is follows an American studying over broad in Japan. Keep a look out for the variant cov ers drawn by James O’Barr, the creator of The Crow.
Walking Dead #100
By: Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard
Publisher: Image
Estimated Price: $3.99
What’s it about: A landmark comic series hits a landmark issue with #100. This one is an extra large issue touting some intense drama for Rick Grimes.
Ant-man Season One Prem HC
By: Tom Defalco, Horacio Domingues, and Julian Totino Tedesco
Publisher: Marvel
Estimated Price: $24.99
What’s it about: Want to know more about the founding Avenger who got left out of the movie and is currently being developed by geek-friendly director, Edgar Wright, here’s your chance. Ant-man Season One is a hardcover graphic novel that collects some of the definitive Ant-Man stories in effect painting the perfect picture.
Avenging Spider-Man #9
By: Kathryn Immonen and Stuart Immonen
Publisher: Marvel
Estimated Price: $3.99
What’s it about: Avenging Spiderman seems like it is mostly a one-off title, kind of like Batman: The Dark Knight. All the hardcore stuff is happening in Snyder’s Batman, The Dark Knight just has some cool(ish) adventures. Avenging Spidey is the same way. The reason I mention this one is that it is actually the first appearance of Carol Danvers as Captain Marvel before she makes her triumph debut this month.
