The Pull List: 6/10/2015
Buzz worthy books of the week
21st Century Tank Girl #1
In a month of rebrandings thanks to DC’s Convergence coming to an end, one indie book is getting new life with this reboot from original creators.
After the crazy awesome Endgame, the final confrontation between Batman and Joker, a new Batman arises in a giant bunny mech suit. It is easy nowadays to shrug this stuff off. But I am digging Snyder’s run so far. No reason to start complaining now.
Captain Marvel and the Carol Corps #1
Captain Marvel (aka Carol Danvers) puts together her own all-female team of ass-kickers taking the name of the recent Carol Danvers fan club.
Constantine the Hellblazer #1
John Constantine is getting rebranded back to his original title (sort of). Maybe this series can course correct from the last one.
Ghost Racers #1
A number of alternate reality Ghost Riders band together in Battleworld.
It Will All Hurt #1
I know nothing about this book. It has a cool title. And a cool cover. And its a number 1. I’d say that warrants at least a look see.
Long Distance #1
Two people fall in love while stuck in an airport. Problem is they are from 2 different cities in 2 different states of the US. They try to do the long distance thing anyway. A pretty solid rom-com premise from the creators of Love and Capes.
Marvel Zombies #1
Honestly, I am pretty zombied out and would most likely have skipped this title if it didn’t star Elsa Bloodstone. Bloodstone is one of my favorite characters in the Marvel universe and whenever she gets some spotlight, I am interested.
Mrs. Deadpool and the Howling Commandos #1
Marvel has tried to reuse the Howling C0mmado moniker for a team of monsters teaming up. They might have cracked the code this time by giving them a new leader, Shiklh, the demon queen who married Deadpool.
Section 8 #1
Writer Garth Ennis brings back his faulty team of losers from the pages of his Hitman comic. Sixpack is back on the sauce and putting his team back together.
